Spine Management

Spine Management

The most prevalent musculoskeletal conditions that causes long-term pain and physical disabilities are neck and back disorders which strongly associate with symptoms related to spinal disorders. Spine- related conditions are prolonged conditions that naturally cause chronic pain in the spine with or without affecting the arm or leg. In worsening circumstances, nerve compressions could occur which result in shooting pain, numbness, tingling sensations, weakness and impaired functions of extremities.

Common Spine-Related Conditions:
Neck Pain
Back Pain
Slipped Disc
Spondylosis
Spinal Stenosis
Sciatica
Spondylolysis
Prolapsed Disc

Spondylolisthesis
Cervical Radiculopathy
Scoliosis
Ligamentum Flavum Hypertrophy

Joint Management

Joints are constantly at high risks of injuries due to its poor stability and flexibility which encourage versatility and a wide range of movements. Common injuries that occur in joints are soft tissue injuries such as the spraining, straining or inflammation of the bursae (bursitis), tendons (tendonitis), tendon sheath (tenosynovitis) and capsule (capsulitis). Pain in joints could also be caused by diseases or conditions that involve the joints themselves, usually arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis).

Common Conditions:
Frozen Shoulders
Rotator Cuff Injury
Biceps Tendonitis
Supraspinatus Tendonitis
Shoulder Dislocation/ Misalignment
Tennis Elbow/ Golfer’s Elbow
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Hip Bursitis
Hip/ Knee Osteoarthritis
Patella/ Achilles Tendonitis

Headaches and Migraine Management

Headaches and Migraine Management

Most times headaches and migraines arise from the neck (upper cervical) region and these conditions are normally associated with spine-related disorders in the neck that lead to tightened neck muscles which could cause the cervical vertebra to misalign. A resultant condition is occiput misalignment which causes nerve irritation and ultimately, pain. Headaches and migraines could also arise due to Temporomandibular (TMJ) or jaw problems. We offer an advanced, non-surgical treatment for headaches.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological conditions are diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. In other words, disturbances or destruction to parts of your nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, nerve roots, autonomic nervous system, and neuromuscular junction that result in the messages from your brain not reaching the affected parts of your body. This could lead to the loss of hand and arm, or leg and foot movement, functions and sensations, loss of coordination, loss of balance, paralysis, weakness and/or muscles becoming floppy, spasms and /or spasticity, tremors and pain. Our neurological rehabilitation treatment is designed to reactivate the communication pathways that interrupt brain signals through repetitive actions and special exercises programmes.

Common Neurological Conditions:
Stroke
Multiple Sclerosis
Parkinson's
Motor Neurone Disease

Spinal Cord Injury
Cerebral Palsy
Facial/ Bell Palsy
Traumatic Brain Injury

Paediatric Rehabilitation

Paediatric Rehabilitation

Paediatric conditions (Neuromuscular conditions) are syndromes or disorders that lead to the impairment of the nervous system functions, usually from an illness, disease, or disability which leads to physical disability. The disability or impairment that comes after depends on the affected area and severity of the condition. Our collaborated rehab method is unique and specially designed based on a child-friendly concept. Our rehabilitation programme involves developmental activities (such as sitting, crawling, standing and walking), balance and coordination activities, adaptive play, circulation improvement ( by using electrical stimulation and Manual therapy techniques), muscle strength training, flexibility exercises to increase range of motion, functional mobility training, proprioception training, taping techniques, safety and prevention programs, besides caregiver/patient education for better aftercare.

Common Conditions:
Torticollis
Gait Abnormalities
Muscular Weakness
Hypotonia
Limb Deficiencies
Muscle Diseases

Sports Injuries
Developmental Delays
Cerebral Palsy
Orthopaedic Disabilities / Injuries
Birth Defects (Such As Spina Bifida)
Muscular Dystrophy

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

A proper course of rehabilitation is essential in order to gain full benefit of any surgery undergone. Our physiotherapists have great experiences in hospitals and post-operative care settings, working close with surgeons. The rehabilitation programs would be performed step by step according to a patient’s progression. It is important to avoid straining or overworking the operated area during the period of recovery. We provide physiotherapy programs for pre and post-operative care to ensure a patient’s return to highest functional abilities.

Common Post-Operative We Treat Includes:
Rotator Cuff Repair (2 Hole or 4 Hole)
Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction

Arthroscopic SLAP Repair
Total Hip Replacement (THR)
All Types of Bone/Joint Fracture

Sports Rehabilitation

Sports Rehabilitation

Sport rehabilitators help athletes to maintain and improve their health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain. A precise rehabilitation program constructed based on individual needs help active patients such as athletes to recover quickly after an injury, empowering them to resume athletic activities. We use Therapeutic Modalities, precise exercise rehabilitation, education, biomechanics, manual therapy and other forms of ‘hands-on’ therapy to treat and prevent injuries. We focus more on a proper, wholesome healing process post injury, not forgetting about maintaining their strength, flexibility and stability. These two elements are significant to an injured athletic in any event of training of competition without risk of an injury or re-injury. Sports massage is also offered for athletes who wish to prevent any possible injury.

Geriatric Wellness

Geriatric Wellness

The degeneration of joints and progressive loss of muscle due to aging, leads the elderly to suffer from painful joint, losing strength, balance, functional abilities and finally leading to disabilities. To prevent this, old aged people should maintain certain activities to a recommended level and keep themselves away from sedentary lifestyle. We provide pain management programs for patients with painful joints and exclusive exercise therapy guidance such as strengthening exercises, range of motion exercises and various functional exercises to prevent the loss of strength, range of motion, balance and agility of the elderly while maintaining the good health of their cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary systems, besides improving their confidence towards an active lifestyle.

Circulatory Wellness

Circulatory Wellness

A circulatory condition is a disorder or condition that affects the circulatory system which generally results in poor blood circulation. The poor circulation usually affects extremities (legs and arms), causing pain, colour changes or swelling around in distal parts of extremities (normally on feet), numbness, tingling, nerve damage, unhealed ulcers, cold intolerance muscle cramping, lack of sensation, blood clots and eventually tissue damage. We provide a special programme to improve lymph flow and blood circulation. The circulation programme involves circulatory massage therapy, therapeutic modalities and a circulation exercise programme.

Common Conditions:
Diabetes
Varicose Veins

Lymphedema
Cold Feet

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Decompression Therapy

DTS therapy is a process where a DTS machine pulls your spine gradually which helps to relieve pressure from the nerves causing radiating pain. DTS therapy creates a negative pressure and help carry blood supply and nutrients into the targeted disc. Rehydration of the disc and surrounding structures creates a physiological change which assists the body’s natural healing process. The goal of this therapy is to restore the targeted disc its own healing mechanism that might be temporarily lost due to constant spine compression. We use the Triton DTS traction system for decompression therapy.  The decompression therapy programme is moulded to suit an individual patient’s condition and its severity.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a form of hand skill applied by physiotherapists to mobilize and manipulate soft tissue and joints. A set of of manual therapy techniques are employed, all aimed at relaxing tense muscles and restricted joints in order to decrease pain and increase flexibility.

Common Spine-Related Conditions:
Soft Tissue Manipulation:
This is referred to techniques like the Myofascial release and Trigger point therapy. The benefits include increased blood circulation, relaxed muscles, and breaking up scar tissue and releasing myofascial limitations.
Joint Mobilization:
This technique involves the gentle manipulation of a joint with either rhythmic oscillation or sustained pressure. The benefits include an improved range of motion, restored mobility and normalized movement patterns.
Passive Stretching:
This technique involves passive stretching for an individual muscle. The benefits include relaxed muscles, an improved range of motion, restored mobility and normalized movement patterns.
Relaxation Massage: A gentle full body massage for relaxing muscles and reducing stress.
